Kenya Airways has attributed the main cause of its flight scheduling disruptions to the unscheduled and extended grounding of two 787 Dreamliners.
In a statement, the airline’s Communications Office indicated that these disruptions, resulting in unusually high levels of delays, have also been exacerbated by the unavailability of flight crew for some regional flights.
Kenya Airways (KQ) anticipates that its network will normalize by tomorrow, pending the completion of necessary engine and component repairs.
To mitigate the impact of these flight disruptions, the airline has implemented several measures. These include readjusting its network and proactively communicating with affected customers. Additionally, KQ is expediting the recovery of the grounded aircraft and downgrading some flights to minimize disruptions.
