Police are investigating four separate cases of suicide reported on Thursday, March 27, in different parts of the country.

Huruma, Nairobi

In Huruma’s CDF area, 47-year-old Zacharia Kariuki Muiru was found dead after hanging himself using a belt tied to the door grill of his house.

Family members told police that the deceased had a domestic dispute with his wife on Thursday evening, leading her to leave home and seek refuge at her sister’s house in Kariobangi South.

The body, which had no visible injuries, was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

Mwea West, Kirinyaga County

In Mwea West, 41-year-old Michael Mbogo Kiura was discovered hanging from a roof rafter inside his house using a manila rope.

Authorities did not recover a suicide note, and investigations are ongoing.

Kipkaren, Nandi County

In Kipkaren, 24-year-old Japheth Kimutai took his own life using a waist belt, which he tied around his neck and secured to a roof rafter inside his house.

Nyamaiya, Nyamira County

In Nyamaiya, 31-year-old Dennis Sunda was found dead, having hanged himself using a sisal rope tied to a roof rafter inside his room.

Investigations Underway

Police confirmed that all four bodies were moved to mortuaries for autopsy and further investigations. Authorities have urged members of the public to seek mental health support and speak out about challenges they may be facing.
