Renowned journalist Nick Mudimba has passed away after collapsing at his home in Syokimau, Machakos County, on the evening of Sunday, March 23, 2025. Mudimba, a former KTN journalist who later joined CGTN Africa, was with his family when the tragic incident occurred.

According to family sources, Mudimba had been feeling unwell and was diagnosed with high uric acid levels on Saturday. He was prescribed medication on Sunday, just hours before his sudden death.

“He was in a good mood and watched the football match between Harambee Stars and Gabon before he took his medication as advised,” a family member stated.

However, shortly after taking the prescribed medicine, Mudimba collapsed, experienced convulsions, and passed away inside his home.

His body has been moved to a mortuary in Syokimau as an autopsy and further medical examinations are planned to determine the exact cause of death.
