Police officers from Kamagambo Police Station have arrested a suspected drug trafficker and seized 401 rolls of bhang following a public tip-off.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspect was using a public service vehicle (KDM 981Z) to transport the illicit cargo from Migori to Kisumu. Acting on intelligence, officers ambushed and intercepted the vehicle, uncovering two bags containing the bhang.

The 34.4 kilograms of bhang, valued at Ksh1,032,000, were hidden among passengers—mainly students—possibly as a tactic to evade suspicion.

The driver, identified as Calvin Okoth Otieno, was taken into custody at Kamagambo Police Station and is set to be arraigned in court.
