The driver and bodyguard of Kasipul MP Charles Ong’ondo Were have been arrested and detained for questioning in connection with his murder.
Police confirmed the arrests, made on Tuesday night, saying the two are considered persons of interest in the investigation.
Detectives said the pair was taken into custody after providing inconsistent accounts of the events surrounding the MP’s killing.
Neither the driver nor the bodyguard was injured when a gunman opened fire during a traffic jam along Valley Road in Nairobi, fatally shooting the MP.
