Detectives have recovered a pistol believed to have been used in the assassination of Kasipul Member of Parliament Charles Were.
The firearm was discovered on Tuesday night in a house located in Chokaa along Kangundo road in Nairobi.
Police also found a bag and shoes believed to have been worn by a prime suspect on the day of the killing.
Previous ballistic analysis revealed that the weapon used to kill the MP had also been linked to at least three other crimes in Komarock and Kayole in Nairobi, as well as Ndumberi in Kiambu County.
The conclusion was drawn after comparing bullets recovered from the crime scene and the MP’s body with past cases.
MP Were, who was serving his second term, was shot dead on April 30 along Valley Road near City Mortuary. His driver and bodyguard, who was seated in the back seat, were unharmed in the attack.
