Detectives in Nairobi’s Utawala area have arrested a man after recovering a loaded firearm during an intelligence-led raid.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspect, identified as Brown Carlos Butrose Kombo, was apprehended during a targeted operation at a residence in Kelvin Heights, Utawala.
Firearm hidden in refrigerator
During the raid, detectives discovered a Glock pistol loaded with 17 rounds of ammunition, which had been concealed inside a refrigerator.
“The scene was processed, exhibits secured, and the suspect placed in custody pending arraignment,” the DCI confirmed in a statement.
Suspect in custody
The suspect was immediately detained and is expected to be arraigned on Monday. Authorities say investigations are ongoing to establish whether the firearm had been used in past crimes.
