A boda boda rider killed in Rarieda has sparked fresh concern over rising attacks targeting motorcycle operators in Siaya County. The rider, identified as George Ouma, 28, was found dead on Wednesday morning in Aram, Rarieda sub-county.
According to police, the boda boda rider picked passengers headed toward Lwak before he was attacked at dawn. His body, which bore multiple stab wounds, was discovered a short distance from the road.
Police say the attackers escaped with his motorcycle, adding that the case fits a growing pattern of violent robberies targeting riders across both rural and urban regions.
The body of George Ouma has since been moved to the mortuary pending a postmortem examination as investigations continue.
Authorities are urging boda boda riders to be cautious during late-night and early-morning trips, noting that robberies remain common. Police advise riders to cooperate during attacks to avoid fatal confrontations
