Jubilant scenes unfolded at Nyanchwa Hospital in Kisii County on Monday morning after a local woman safely delivered quadruplets — four babies born at once — in a rare and heartwarming event that has captured national attention.
The proud mother, Vane Nyanchoka Ontweka, gave birth via caesarean section to three boys and one girl, all of whom she named in honor of Kenya’s late former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga and his wife Ida Odinga.
According to hospital officials, the three boys were named Raila, Amolo, and Odinga, while the baby girl was named Ida.
A Moment of Hope and Celebration
Hospital staff at Nyanchwa broke into song and dance after the successful delivery, describing it as a “moment of hope and new life” for the community.
Doctors confirmed that both the mother and her four newborns are in stable condition and under close medical observation.
“This is a blessing not just for the family but for all of us,” said a nurse at the facility. “It’s rare to witness such a delivery, and the fact that all babies are healthy makes it even more special.”
The news of the quadruple birth has quickly spread across social media, with many Kenyans congratulating the family and praising the hospital team for their successful efforts.
