Police in Nakuru County have launched investigations into a chilling domestic violence incident in which a 40-year-old woman was stabbed to death during a fight with her husband in Keringet area, Kuresoi.

According to police, the victim, identified as Joyce Lelei, sustained multiple stab wounds to her upper limbs during the attack that occurred on December 19, 2025, inside her home.

Officers said Lelei was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment.

“The body had multiple stab injuries on the upper limbs,” police confirmed, noting that the wounds were severe.

Authorities from Nakuru Central Police Station have since launched a manhunt for the woman’s husband, who is believed to have fled the scene immediately after the incident. He is currently wanted for questioning as investigations continue.

Lelei’s body has been moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy to establish the full extent of her injuries and the exact cause of death.

The tragic incident adds to growing concerns over rising cases of domestic violence in the country, with police urging members of the public to report disputes early before they escalate into deadly confrontations.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
