A leading motorist training institution, Petanns Driving School, which operates more than 100 branches across 15 counties, is facing growing criticism from current and former employees over allegations of delayed salaries, workplace harassment, and a toxic work environment.
Multiple sources claim that staff frequently resign after only a few weeks due to irregular and delayed salary payments, with some employees alleging that wages are inconsistently disbursed. Former staff further accuse senior management of harassment, discouraging internal complaints, and cultivating a climate of fear within the organisation.
According to insiders, the high staff turnover has forced the institution to carry out near-weekly recruitment drives to replace departing employees. Workers describe a demoralising workplace where motivation is low, operational guidance is limited, and employees are pressured to meet performance targets under what they term unsustainable conditions.
Petanns Driving School offers a broad range of services, including training for motorcycles, light vehicles, trucks, vans, and plant operators, as well as defensive driving and refresher courses. The institution also provides technical and computer-based programs, such as IT certifications, web and graphic design, and motor vehicle mechanics.
Staff members say that the alleged management challenges at the widely recognised institution have negatively affected operational efficiency across several branches, raising concerns about staff welfare and service delivery.
