American streaming sensation IShowSpeed has described his Kenya livestream as the most iconic highlight of his 28-day “Speed Does Africa” tour, citing massive fan turnout and record-breaking online engagement.
The Florida-based content creator, born Darren Jason Watkins Jr., toured more than 20 African countries, broadcasting his experiences live to millions of followers across the globe. However, it was his stop in Nairobi on January 11 and 12, 2026, that left the biggest impression on him and his audience.
During his time in Kenya, Speed’s livestream posted record viewership numbers. Sections of the broadcast attracted more than 180,000 concurrent viewers, while his YouTube channel gained over 360,000 new subscribers, pushing his total following beyond 48 million.
The Nairobi visit also drew an overwhelming physical turnout. At least 30,000 fans lined city streets and public spaces as the streamer toured local landmarks, sampled Kenyan cuisine, and interacted with supporters in real time.
Reflecting on the experience, Speed described the Kenyan leg of his African tour as “just crazy,” praising the unmatched energy, passion and engagement he encountered compared to other stops across the continent.
