A man has been shot dead after allegedly attacking a police officer at Sakutuek Police Station in a dramatic incident that has sparked tension in the area.
Confrontation at Police Station
The incident occurred on the evening of March 28, 2026, when the man, identified as Wilson Karbolo, reportedly stormed the station demanding the release of his brother.
According to police, his brother had been arrested earlier following allegations of assault and was being held pending investigations and arraignment.
Armed Attack
Police say Karbolo confronted the deputy station commander and, during the altercation, pulled out a panga he had concealed in his jacket.
He allegedly slashed the officer on the left palm, prompting fears of further attack.
Fatal Shooting
In response, the officer drew his firearm and shot Karbolo at least twice, fatally wounding him.
Authorities indicated the officer acted in self-defence, believing he was in imminent danger of being attacked again.
Rising Tension
The injured officer was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, a crowd gathered outside the station, demanding answers and the release of the suspect, escalating tensions in the area.
Additional security personnel were deployed overnight to restore calm.

The body of the deceased was moved to a mortuary pending a postmortem examination.
