A couple has been denied bail and remanded in custody over serious allegations of recording and distributing explicit content without consent.
Suspects Remanded
The accused, Brian Morris Njagi and his wife Betty Kioko, are facing charges linked to alleged exploitation and distribution of private content.
Alleged Luring and Drugging
According to the prosecution, the incidents occurred between March 17 and 18, 2026, when Njagi allegedly lured three commercial sex workers from Thika to his residence in Kabati.
Once at the house, the victims were reportedly drugged through food and alcohol, leaving them in a vulnerable state.
Filming and Distribution Claims
It is further alleged that Kioko filmed the victims engaging in sexual acts with Njagi while they were incapacitated.
Prosecutors claim the explicit footage was later shared through a Telegram account linked to Njagi before spreading to other social media platforms.
Ongoing Investigations
The court denied the couple bail as investigations continue into the disturbing allegations.
The case is scheduled to be mentioned on April 9, 2026, as authorities gather more evidence.
Legal and Public Concern
The case has raised concerns around consent, digital privacy, and the misuse of online platforms to distribute sensitive content, with calls for strict enforcement of laws protecting victims.
