Police in Nairobi are investigating the recovery of two air rifles discovered inside a house in the upscale Spring Valley area.
According to police reports, the firearms were recovered on Friday morning from a residence located along Spring Valley Road.
The incident was reportedly flagged by the new owner of the house, who informed authorities that he came across the weapons while cleaning the property after recently purchasing it from a Kenyan national.
Police officers who visited the residence confirmed the recovery of two break-barrel air rifles designed to use .177 or .22 calibre pellets.
Authorities further noted that one of the rifles had a broken barrel.
The recovered firearms were later taken to the police station armoury as investigations continue to establish ownership, licensing status and any possible legal violations connected to the weapons.
Air rifles in Kenya are regulated under existing firearms laws, and ownership or possession may require licensing depending on the type and intended use.
