A train and a school bus carrying children were involved in an accident at a railway crossing along the Gilgil-Nyahururu Road, causing panic among residents and motorists.

According to witnesses, the bus belonging to Teresia’s School was attempting to cross the railway line when it reportedly stalled on the tracks.

Train Hit Right Side of School Bus

Primary witnesses said an oncoming train crashed into the right side of the school bus moments after the vehicle became stuck at the crossing.

The impact caused alarm at the scene, but fortunately all learners onboard were safely evacuated.

No Injuries Reported

Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported following the incident.

Emergency responders and members of the public quickly assisted in ensuring the children were moved to safety after the collision.

Police Launch Investigations

Police have since launched investigations to establish the exact cause of the accident and determine the circumstances surrounding the bus stalling on the railway line.

The incident has reignited concerns about safety measures at railway crossings and the need for increased caution by drivers transporting schoolchildren.
