Rev. Lucy Natasha Breaks Silence on Closure of Nairobi CBD Church

Popular Nairobi-based televangelist Rev. Lucy Natasha has dismissed online speculation surrounding the closure of her Empowerment Christian Church (ECC) physical location in the Central Business District, saying the move was planned and not driven by financial or legal troubles.

The preacher confirmed that ECC vacated the rooftop premises at Biashara Plaza, at the junction of Moi Avenue and Biashara Street, after the expiry of a five-year lease.

In a statement, Rev. Natasha said the decision was deliberate and strategic, describing it as part of a broader transition from leasing property to pursuing ownership.

“As a ministry, we are trusting God to secure our own permanent place—land that will host a church sanctuary, a television ministry, and a school. This step is about ownership, legacy, and long-term impact,” she said.

She dismissed claims circulating on social media linking the closure to money laundering or financial strain, insisting the ministry remains stable and operational.

Rev. Natasha added that ECC’s services will continue fully online as the church expands its digital outreach, which she says reaches more than 10 million followers globally.

She emphasised that the ministry has never been confined to a physical structure, noting that its digital platforms remain active as plans for a permanent home take shape.
