Authorities have begun investigations following the sudden and unexplained death of Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) reporter Fredrick Parsayo.

In a statement released on Friday, March 21, 2025, KBC confirmed that Parsayo passed away at his home in Kinoo, Kikuyu Constituency under circumstances that remain unclear.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our esteemed colleague, Fredrick Parsayo, a dedicated journalist in the KBC Editorial Department. Fredrick tragically left us on Friday, March 21, under circumstances that are still being investigated. This sudden loss has left us all deeply heartbroken,” read part of the statement.

Police Investigations Underway

Following the incident, KBC confirmed that the matter has been reported to Kinoo Police Station, and authorities have since taken over the investigation.

Parsayo’s body has been transferred to St. Teresa Mortuary, as family, friends, and colleagues come to terms with the tragic news.

“The incident has been formally reported to the Kinoo Police Station, and Fredrick’s remains have been moved to St. Teresa Mortuary. His family has been informed, and we stand in solidarity with them during this difficult time,” the broadcaster stated.

Tributes Pour In for the Late Journalist

KBC eulogized Parsayo as a valued and dedicated member of the newsroom whose contribution to journalism will be sorely missed.

“On behalf of the KBC Board of Directors, Management, and staff, we extend our deepest condolences to Fredrick’s family, friends, and everyone affected by this heartbreaking loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.”

The cause of Parsayo’s sudden death remains unknown, and police are expected to provide further updates as investigations progress.
