Man dies after being hit with piece of wood in Kitui County

A tragic altercation in Matikoni village, Nzombe, Kitui County, has resulted in the death of a man identified as Kavu Kamwana.

Police reported that Kamwana was seriously assaulted during the confrontation and sustained severe head injuries. He was initially rushed to Zombe Sub-County Hospital before being referred to Kitui County Referral Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

A suspect has since been arrested in connection with the incident, and authorities have recovered the piece of wood used in the attack.

The suspect is currently in police custody pending arraignment, while the victim’s body has been moved to the mortuary for an autopsy. The motive behind the altercation remains unclear.
