Murang’a County witnessed chaos on Sunday, March 30, 2025, after Kariara Ward MCA, Hon. Gichobe Mbatia’s car was badly damaged by unknown assailants while he attended a service at Mwagu AIPCA Church.
Reports indicate that the attackers pelted stones at the MCA’s vehicle, causing significant damage. While the motives and perpetrators remain unclear, speculation is rife that the incident could be politically motivated.
This comes at a time when President William Ruto is set to begin a five-day tour of the Mt. Kenya region, a move that has heightened political tensions in the area.
