Police in Kilifi County have launched investigations into the gruesome murder of a 75-year-old man, Gonzi Tinga Kalo, whose body was discovered on his farm in the Vitengeni area.
According to officers, the elderly man’s lifeless body was found about 150 metres from his house, lying in a pool of blood. He had suffered two deep cuts, one to the back of the head and another on his face. Additionally, his left wrist was injured, and his right ankle had been severed, indicating a violent attack.
At the scene, police recovered a mobile phone, a knife, a wallet containing Sh260, and Kalo’s national ID card. His maize plantation had also been destroyed, adding a layer of mystery to the brutal killing.
The motive behind the murder remains unclear. Authorities have begun a full investigation and are appealing to the public for any information that could help identify the perpetrators.
