Detectives from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) have arrested a Meru University student accused of operating an online syndicate selling fake KNEC exam papers ahead of the upcoming national examinations.
Authorities said the suspect, who was allegedly running multiple social media accounts advertising access to leaked papers, was apprehended following a joint cybercrime investigation between KNEC and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
The student is currently in custody awaiting arraignment, as investigators continue to track other individuals believed to be part of the exam fraud network.
KNEC has warned students, parents, and teachers to avoid falling victim to online exam scams, emphasizing that exam integrity remains a top priority and that all official exam materials are securely handled.
