Veteran journalist and former State Master of Ceremonies during the late President Mwai Kibaki’s era, Sammy Lui Wang’ondu, has died, his family has confirmed.
According to reports, Wang’ondu was found dead on a seat at his home in Subukia, Nakuru County, on Thursday afternoon.
Neighbours Say Lui Had Been Unwell and Living Alone
Neighbours told local authorities that the respected broadcaster had been living alone near the Subukia Marian National Shrine after relocating from Nairobi, where he previously worked for years in the media industry and government events.
They added that Lui had been unwell for some time, though he remained active in community matters and occasionally participated in local church activities.
His body has been moved to Umash Funeral Home in Nakuru as the family and friends come to terms with his sudden death.
