President William Ruto has fulfilled a major financial pledge to a local church by donating Ksh 50 million, in addition to an earlier Ksh 3 million government contribution, after clergy appealed for more funds to complete their construction project.
Speaking during a weekend church event, the President revealed that religious leaders personally approached him at his office to request the additional support, explaining that their original budget had fallen short.
“Your clergy came to my office and told me that the Ksh 3 million we had given was not enough. You requested an additional Ksh 50 million to make it Ksh 80 million, and I agreed,” President Ruto said.
“Last week, I sent Ksh 50 million.”
The contribution adds to Ksh 20 million raised by church members and Ksh 10 million contributed by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and other local leaders.
According to the President, the funds will go toward completing the new church facility, which will include conference halls, administrative offices, and a worship center.
Ruto also pledged to personally attend the official opening of the facility once construction is complete.
In a further personal gesture, the Head of State donated a brand-new vehicle to the ADC bishop for use in ministry and outreach activities.
