50-Year-Old Man Killed in Bar Altercation in Kilifi County

A senior police officer was Monday morning robbed of his pistol in an attack in Kingeero area, Kiambu County.

A 50-year-old man was killed during an altercation at a drinking joint in Marafa area, Magarini Sub-County, Kilifi County.

Police said the deceased, identified as Charles Charo Baya, was struck on the head with a club during a confrontation with another patron on January 14.

According to preliminary reports, the two were involved in an argument over issues that are yet to be established when the assailant picked up a club and hit Baya on the head, causing him to collapse and die at the scene.

Officers were alerted and responded to the incident, where they found the man’s body lying on the ground.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending a post-mortem examination as police launched investigations to trace the suspect and establish
