A middle-aged man was brutally murdered in Elbeso village, North Horr Constituency, Marsabit County, in an incident police believe was sparked by a love triangle.
The deceased, identified as Badaqe Galgalo Abduba (34), was found lying in a pool of blood with deep stab wounds. Marsabit County Police Commander Leonard Kimaiyo confirmed the incident, saying it occurred on Saturday at the home of a woman believed to have been Abduba’s girlfriend.
According to police, Abduba had visited the woman’s residence when the fatal confrontation took place. Moments later, Guyo Talbe (45)—also alleged to be involved in a relationship with the woman—arrived at the scene, leading to a heated argument that escalated into a violent physical fight.
Local elders from Elbeso village, who reported the matter to the area assistant chief, said the woman’s husband was away in neighbouring Isiolo County at the time of the incident.
The woman, Daro Sora Roba (25), was taken to North Horr Police Station to record a statement as part of ongoing investigations.
Police said the suspect later surrendered himself and confessed to stabbing the deceased several times on the left side beneath the armpit. The suspected murder weapon was later recovered about 500 metres from the scene, bearing bloodstains.
The body of the deceased was moved to Marsabit County Referral Hospital mortuary, where a postmortem examination is expected to be conducted.
Police have launched further investigations to establish the full circumstances surrounding the killing.
