American R&B singer and entertainer Ray J, born William Ray Norwood Jr., has shared a deeply concerning update about his health, revealing that doctors have warned he may have limited time left to live due to serious heart complications following a recent hospitalization.
The 45-year-old, best known for hit songs such as One Wish and his appearances on reality television, disclosed in social media videos and a livestream this week that his health sharply deteriorated after he was admitted to a Las Vegas hospital earlier this month.
According to Ray J, he was initially hospitalized with severe pneumonia and intense chest pain. During treatment, medical tests allegedly showed that his heart is functioning at approximately 25 percent of normal capacity.
In emotional videos shared on Instagram, the singer said doctors informed him that the condition could significantly shorten his lifespan.
“2027 is definitely a wrap for me,” Ray J said, suggesting the coming year could be his last.
The entertainer reflected on how years of heavy alcohol consumption and substance use, including Adderall and other drugs, may have contributed to his condition. He stated that part of his heart is severely damaged, adding that he previously believed his body could withstand the strain of his lifestyle.
Despite the grim outlook he described, Ray J expressed gratitude for the support he has received from fans, family members, and close friends. He specifically thanked his sister, Grammy-winning R&B star Brandy, for her prayers and encouragement.
He also spoke about the importance of securing his children’s financial future and urged others to prioritize their health and seek medical care early.
This is not the first health scare Ray J has faced. In 2021, he was hospitalized with pneumonia, although that incident was not linked to the heart complications he is now describing.
As of his most recent update, Ray J said he remains focused on treatment while coming to terms with the seriousness of his condition, thanking supporters for standing by him during what he described as one of the most difficult periods of his life.
