A family in Ngecha is living in distress after 36-year-old accountant Samuel Ng’ang’a Mwangi disappeared on February 27, 2026, with efforts to locate him so far yielding no results.
Ng’ang’a, a father of two, was last seen leaving his home that morning to report to work along Thika Road. According to his wife, Cecilia Mueni, the couple had a brief conversation before he left, but shortly afterward his phone went unanswered and was later switched off.
Human rights activist Mwabili Mwagodi confirmed that Ng’ang’a had reported to work on the day he disappeared.
“We have met the HR, and they confirmed he was at the office that Friday,” Mwagodi said.
The family reported the disappearance to King’eero Police Station, but despite extensive efforts to trace him, there has been no breakthrough. The search has included inquiries at his workplace as well as checks at Nairobi City Mortuary, all without success.
Ng’ang’a has been active on social media, where he frequently criticised government policies and questioned official practices. One of his recent posts reportedly addressed a controversial incident involving prison officers graduating without ceremonial dress.
His family now believes his disappearance could be linked to his outspoken online commentary, as they continue to appeal to authorities and the public for information that could help trace his whereabouts.
