A senior officer attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has surrendered to police after being linked to the murder of a woman in Roysambu, Nairobi.

Daniel Macharia, who is based at the DCI Headquarters along Kiambu Road, turned himself in at the Naivasha Police Station after reportedly going into hiding following the incident.

Woman Found Dead in Roysambu Apartment

Macharia is accused of allegedly assaulting and fatally stabbing Florence Nyaga at their rented apartment along Lumumba Drive in Roysambu last weekend.

Preliminary reports indicate that Nyaga, a salonist, became unreachable to her family on Friday, February 27, prompting concern and efforts to trace her whereabouts.

On Sunday morning, her lifeless body was discovered inside the apartment. Authorities said she had visible bruises and multiple stab wounds, suggesting there had been a violent struggle before she was killed.

Officer Fled Before Surrendering

Investigators revealed that Macharia, who reportedly shared the apartment with Nyaga, fled the scene after the incident and was being sought by law enforcement officers.

He has since surrendered at Naivasha Police Station and is currently being treated as the prime suspect in the brutal killing.

Police are expected to proceed with investigations as the case moves through the legal process.
