Kenyan police have launched investigations into two separate suspected murder cases reported in Kisii and Bomet counties, where the bodies of two men were discovered under disturbing circumstances

Man Found Dead in Bush in Kisii’s Nyamagesa Village

Detectives in Nyamagesa village, Kisii County, are probing the brutal killing of Eric Onchomba, a 40-year-old man whose lifeless body was discovered abandoned in a bush.

According to the National Police Service, Onchomba’s body was found on Thursday afternoon, hours after he was believed to have been murdered. Authorities confirmed that one suspect has already been arrested in connection with the killing.

“We are yet to determine the motive behind the murder,” said Kisii County police officials.

The body was moved to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem examination to aid in the ongoing investigations.

Murder Suspected in Death of 26-Year-Old in Bomet’s Kapletundo Village

In a separate but equally chilling case in Kapletundo village, Sotik – Bomet County, the body of Cyrus Kiplangat, 26, was found inside his house under suspicious circumstances.

Police who visited the scene noted visible injuries on the victim’s abdomen, elbow, and left kneecap. Officers suspect Kiplangat may have been murdered elsewhere before his body was moved to the house.

“This appears to be a staged scene. The investigation is ongoing to determine the motive,” stated an officer familiar with the case.

The body has also been taken to the Longisa County Hospital Mortuary for autopsy and further forensic analysis.

Ongoing Investigations and Security Concerns

These cases highlight growing concerns around rural security in Kenya, especially in counties like Kisii and Bomet where similar incidents have occurred. The Kenya Police Service urges citizens to report any suspicious activity in their communities and cooperate with investigations.
