Detectives in Kirinyaga County are searching for a 24-year-old man accused of murdering his girlfriend and burying her body in a septic tank. The suspect, the son of a businessman in Ngurubani, allegedly committed the crime last Thursday before disappearing.
According to Mwea-East Sub-County Police Commander Mohammed Jarso, the grim discovery was made by a housemaid while cleaning the toilets. Shocked by what she saw, she immediately alerted her employer, who reported the matter to Wang’uru Police Station.
Authorities are yet to identify the deceased, and a forensic autopsy will be conducted to establish her identity. “We are working swiftly to determine who the victim is because even the suspect’s father does not know her,” police stated.
