Police in Masinga, Machakos County, are investigating the brutal murder of a 34-year-old woman whose body was found in a water tank inside her home in Kithyoko.
The victim, identified as Pauline Mukeli Nzioka, was discovered after neighbours and police broke into her house when they noticed her door had been locked for an unusual period. Upon entry, they found her lifeless body submerged in a water tank, sparking a full-scale homicide investigation.
Disturbing Scene Inside the House
According to police reports, the crime scene revealed chilling details. Blood stains were visible on the floor, and Pauline’s slippers were scattered apart. Inside the bedroom, officers recovered a blood-stained hammer and an iron sheet cutter believed to have been used in the attack.
“The body had multiple head injuries consistent with blunt force trauma,” a police spokesperson confirmed.
Suspected Love Triangle Motive
Authorities suspect that the killing may have been driven by a love triangle dispute. Pauline’s husband is currently wanted for questioning. Locals revealed that he had separated from his first wife, and tensions between them reportedly remained high.
Police have also indicated that the first wife will be interrogated to determine whether she had any involvement or knowledge of the crime.
Ongoing Investigations and Autopsy Plans
Pauline’s body has been transferred to the local mortuary for post-mortem examination to establish the exact cause of death. Police say the investigation is ongoing, and they are pursuing leads that could identify and apprehend the killer.
