Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has moved to reassure Kenyans about his health following speculation after missing a key public event in Baringo County.
On Monday night, Kindiki addressed the issue directly through his official social media platforms, stating clearly that he is “well, very well,” aiming to calm public concern.
Public Concerns Over Absence
The Deputy President’s absence was noticeable at the annual Kimalel Goat Auction and cultural festival, which drew the attention of President William Ruto and several senior government officials.
Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku, who represented Kindiki at the event, explained that the Deputy President had felt unwell and was unable to attend in person. Ruku conveyed Kindiki’s greetings to the residents of Baringo and reiterated his continued support for the initiative.
“Naibu wa Rais hasikii vizuri sana. Ameniambia nikifika nilete salamu zake,” Ruku said.
No further details were provided regarding Kindiki’s health condition.
Political Implications and Public Reassurance
Kindiki’s reassurance comes amid rising public curiosity about the wellbeing of top government officials. His brief statement is intended to reassure both citizens and political allies that he remains active and committed to his duties.
