Two men were shot and seriously injured during a violent robbery incident in Kariokor area, Nairobi, in the early hours of Friday, police have confirmed.
According to police reports, the incident occurred at dawn as a woman was closing her shop when she was confronted by two armed suspects riding on a motorcycle. The attackers robbed her of KSh120,000, prompting her to scream for help.
Witnesses said a man who was nearby rushed to assist the woman, but his intervention angered the suspects. One of the attackers opened fire, shooting him in the hand and stomach.
As the suspects prepared to flee, another man who had responded to the distress call was also shot in the right hand.
After the shooting, the gunmen sped off on their motorcycle, escaping with the stolen cash.
The two injured men were rushed to hospital, where police say they are in stable condition.
Police have launched investigations and are pursuing the suspects, as concern grows over rising cases of armed robberies in the area.
