President William Ruto has contributed KSh1.6 million to support the burial and funeral expenses of slain gospel musician Rachael Wandeto.

The donation was presented during her burial ceremony in Kirinyaga County, with Gachoki Gitari handing over the funds on behalf of the President.

Death After Petrol Attack

Wandeto died after suffering severe burn injuries following a brutal petrol attack in Mwiki, within the larger Kasarani area.

The gospel singer had been admitted to hospital in critical condition after unknown attackers reportedly doused her with petrol and set her ablaze.

Known for Vocal Political Support

Rachael Wandeto had become widely known online and in political circles for her vocal support of President Ruto, including tattooing his image and political slogans on her body.

Her death sparked widespread reactions across the country, with leaders, musicians and Kenyans calling for justice and thorough investigations into the attack.

Authorities are still investigating the circumstances and possible motive behind the incident.
