Detectives have intensified operations against sexual exploitation and the commercial production of obscene content, rescuing 48 young women during coordinated raids in Ongata Rongai and Kiserian.

The operations, conducted following intelligence reports and tips from members of the public, uncovered two separate enterprises allegedly exploiting women through online explicit content production and commercial prostitution.

In Ongata Rongai’s Rimpa area, detectives raided a residential house suspected of being used to produce explicit online content for commercial purposes.

During the operation, officers rescued 30 women aged between 19 and 27, who investigators believe had been trapped in an organised exploitation scheme.

A search of the premises led to the recovery of seven laptops fitted with cameras and other equipment suspected to have been used in the production of obscene content.

The suspects arrested during the operation were taken to Ongata Rongai Police Station, where they remain in custody as investigations continue ahead of their arraignment.

In a separate operation in neighbouring Kiserian, detectives acted on credible intelligence indicating that young women had been lured with promises of domestic jobs, only to be forced into sexual exploitation and commercial prostitution.

The joint operation, involving officers from Kiserian and Rongai police stations, resulted in the rescue of 18 women, who have since been placed under police protection.

Investigators also recovered mobile phones, laptops and other items believed to have been used in facilitating the alleged offences. The recovered equipment has been secured as exhibits to aid ongoing investigations.

Police said the suspected mastermind behind the Kiserian operation remains at large, with detectives pursuing leads to track down and arrest the individual.

Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to dismantling criminal networks involved in human trafficking, sexual exploitation and the commercial production of explicit online content, urging members of the public to continue sharing information that can assist investigations.
