Detectives in Nairobi are investigating a murder after the body of a woman who had been reported missing was discovered hidden under a bed in Kariba Estate, South B.

The deceased was identified as Ann Wangare, who had been missing from her Embakasi home since December 18, 2025.

Police said officers traced her last known location to a house belonging to her former husband on December 21, following reports from neighbours who complained of a foul smell emanating from the residence.

Upon breaking into the house, officers made a grisly discovery. Wangare’s body was found under a bed, lying in a pool of blood, with a large stone placed on her head, suggesting she had been brutally assaulted.

The former husband was not found at the scene and is currently missing. Police said his identity is known and have urged him to surrender immediately for questioning in connection with the murder.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending a post-mortem examination, which will help establish the exact cause of death.

Police said investigations are ongoing, adding that the motive behind the killing is yet to be established.
