President William Ruto is currently the most preferred candidate in the 2027 presidential race, according to new findings released by Tifa Research.
The poll paints a picture of a fragmented and still-fluid political contest, with no single candidate commanding overwhelming national support ahead of the next General Election.
Ruto Leads With 24 Percent Support
Respondents in the survey were asked:
“Whether or not you have ever voted or intend to vote in the future, whom would you like to win the 2027 presidential election?”
Participants were required to provide a single response.
According to the findings, Ruto leads the field with 24 per cent support among more than 2,000 respondents sampled across the country.
Kalonzo, Matiang’i and Sifuna Follow
Kalonzo Musyoka emerged second with 19 per cent support, while former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i followed at 14 per cent.
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna ranked fourth with 10 per cent support.
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua came fifth with 9 per cent backing.
Meanwhile, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino registered 2 per cent support.
Many Voters Still Undecided
The survey further found that 15 per cent of respondents remain undecided on their preferred presidential candidate.
Another 3 per cent selected “other” candidates, while an additional 3 per cent declined to respond.
Poll Suggests Fluid Political Landscape
According to Tifa Research, the findings indicate that the 2027 presidential race remains highly fluid, with shifting alliances and no clear dominant opposition challenger emerging so far.
The survey also highlights a fragmented opposition landscape, with support spread across several political figures rather than consolidating around one candidate.
Political analysts say the coming years could significantly reshape the race as coalitions and alignments continue to evolve.
