Comedian and digital content creator Millicent Ayuwa, popularly known as Dem wa Facebook, has dismissed claims that she is among Kenya’s top-earning online creators.
Rejects KSh35 Million Claim
A recent report by Odipo Dev ranked her as the third highest-earning content creator in Kenya, estimating her 2025 earnings at KSh35 million.
The report placed her behind Amber Ray (KSh44 million) and Eric Omondi (KSh57 million).
However, Ayuwa has strongly distanced herself from the figures, terming them inaccurate.
“I’m also shocked as the rest who have seen the report. Had I earned that kind of money, I could have already flown out of Kenya,” she said.
‘Figures Are Not True’
The content creator further explained that her financial situation does not reflect the claims, revealing that she even struggled to purchase the iPhone she currently uses to create content.
“The figures are not true because I even struggled while purchasing my iPhone,” she added.
Report Backed by Itumbi
The report was also highlighted by Dennis Itumbi during his appearance on JKLive.
Itumbi defended the findings, stating that Kenyan creators are increasingly monetising their content following negotiations led by William Ruto with global platforms such as Meta Platforms.
Other Top Creators Listed
The report also featured several other prominent creators among the top 10 earners, including Jaymo Ule Msee, Tom Daktari, Crazy Kennar, Jacky Vike, Kevin Bahati, Timothy Kimani, and Pascal Tokodi.
Debate Over Creator Earnings
Ayuwa’s response has sparked fresh debate over the accuracy of income estimates in Kenya’s digital economy, with questions emerging about how such figures are calculated and verified.
