According to the U.S. government, he currently serves as Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Maghreb and Egypt in the State Department’s Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs.
Throughout his distinguished career, Wooster has held several influential diplomatic roles, including:

Before officially taking up the Nairobi posting, Wooster’s nomination must be vetted and confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
If confirmed, he will become Washington’s chief diplomatic representative in Kenya, overseeing one of America’s most important partnerships in East Africa.
The nomination underscores the strategic importance of Kenya in U.S. foreign policy, particularly in areas such as regional security, counterterrorism, trade, and diplomatic engagement across the Horn of Africa.
